Compiled by the Oregon historian James Henry Brown, this Directory contains a history of Salem by the Rev. L. H. Judson. It is a record of the early settlement of Oregon and includes an account of the sucessive parties of overland emmigrants. The Appendix contains the City Charter and the Amended Charter (1868) the City Laws (1870), an Index to the City Laws, etc.
