Additional Information Full title: "Sketches of the life and adventures of Jacob Parkhurst; written with his own hand when about three score and ten years of age, not for speculation or honor, but for the benefit of the rising generation, particularly of his own descendants. Adding a few facts to the many recorded instances of the sufferings of the early pioneers along the Ohio River". Parkhurst joined Harmar for the Ohio campaign of 1790, but did not march north with him from Cincinnati. Later, he had several narrow escapes from Native Americans along the shores of the Ohio. In a copy reported by Robert G. Hayman, the printer's name is correctly spelled: Grubbs. Examination of the present copy under ultra-violet light shows that the imprint has been supplied in printed "facsimile."
