Additional Information From the Colton Storm catalogue: "The contents relate to rumoured plans that the Confederate Texan troops will again invade the valley of the Mesilla and plans to repel them. Tucson was captured by the Federals May 25, 1862, and J R West was made commander of this District Sept 5, 1862. The District of Arizona comprised the Territory of Arizona and that part of New Mexico south of an east-west line drawn through Fort Thorn, and also North-west Texas."
