Additional Information From the Colton Storm catalogue: "These two issues contain the "Journal of Thomas O. Larkin, Esq., Late U.S. Consul, while prisoner to the Californians, from the 15th Nov. 1847, till his release at the taking of the Pueblo of Los Angeles." The issue of March 6 contains Kearny's proclamation on his assumption of the duties of governor. Although dated March first in this printing, according to Wagner, the proclamation was not issued until March 4. There is also an article about a destructive storm on the coast of Florida - perhaps the opening gun in the war betweeen California and Florida over their respective climates."
